Estes model rockets are Americas leading brand. C11's have a higher average and peak thrust than regular C's. This allows C11's to launch heavier model rockets. All Estes model rocket engines have a letter-number-number code. (e.g., C11-3) C = TOTAL IMPULSE - This letter is the total power (in Newton-seconds) produced by the engine. Each succeeding letter has up to twice the total power as the previous letter. (Example: "B" engines have up to twice the power of "A" engines, which results in approximately twice the altitude the rocket will reach.). 11 = AVERAGE THRUST - This number shows the engine's average push or how fast the engine powers the rocket to go. The higher the number, the faster the speed. It is measured in Newtons (4.45 Newtons = 1 lb.). 3 = TIME DELAY - This number gives you the time delay in seconds between the of the thrust phase and ignition the ejection charge.
